TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - Michel Leblanc, president of Jetsgo, today celebrated the first anniversary of the airline by announcing a 50% increase in the size of the Jetsgo fleet to 12 aircraft. The airline also announced a special "1st Birthday $1 one-way flights for 1 month" promotion.
The four new MD-83's, which will be delivered over the next five months, will mean increased Jetsgo discount service for nine Canadian cities as well as new service to Las Vegas, Orlando, St. Petersburg and Fort Myers. Year round service will be extended to St. John's, Sydney and Stephenville.
"Jetsgo is one year old today and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to offer Canadians a special birthday gift. For one month (June 17-July 16) we will be providing $1 one-way flights from Toronto to all Canadian Jetsgo destinations. The return flight will be at our low summer fares," said Leblanc. "Tickets go on sale on our Web site at 6:00 p.m. today for one week to June 19." Regular taxes and surcharges will apply on the $1 fares.
"Our four new planes will have a significant impact on the level of service we now provide to our existing destinations and make it possible to open up the new markets we're announcing today," said Leblanc.
We're very excited about our new five times per week service to Las Vegas, which will launch this fall. At the same time, we will increase service to Fort Lauderdale from both Montreal and Toronto to two flights per week and we're adding weekly flights from Toronto to Orlando, Fort Myers and St. Petersburg." Frequency to Florida markets will be expanded in December with the arrival of the 12th aircraft."
