What would make me more competitive at JetBlue?:

Captain on a Citation Ultra (jet PIC)

or First Officer on a Citation X (higher gross weight)

All Part 91 of course....
Thanks

I agree with the others. Go with the Jet PIC. That's big right now. Look at your qualifications and experience, and fill in the areas where you are lacking.

Not only in your logbook but in other areas as well. You should be able to show that you have some outside interests. In my jetBlue interview, many of the questions I was asked were non aviation related. Airlines, and any employer for that matter, are looking for well rounded candidates.

JetBlue is very interested in your other qualities. They or I guess I should say we trust that if you have been flying for x amount of time, in x type airplanes you probably are doing a pretty good job. This is backed up by your Letters of Rec and background checks.

I know I got off the subject a little, but this is an important point for anyone looking at an airline career. Remember you can always go do some volunteer work an hour or two each week, but do it for the right reasons. They love that. In my interview I was discussing some extra work I was doing at my former company. They asked me if I was getting paid for that, and my reply was "No, it was just something that needed to be done, so I did it." Both interviewers were writing as I was talking, and both looked up as I said that. Willing to go the extra mile is very big, believe me.

The airline industry can be very tough and mentally demanding at times, but it's important to try to keep it fun.

Good luck to you, wherever your career takes you.

there is I think a requirement now for GTOW > 12,500lbs, check the web site though.
Good luck.

Yes, there are 1000s of qualified pilots out there and I was very fortunate to get hired back in March.

Got the prescreen call just before Christmas, invited for an interview the next day. Interviewed in January, waited 7 weeks for an answer, and started class March 30.

Just finishing up training now on the 320. It's been a fun time.

Good luck.

20,000 lbs. is the requirement. At least that is what is put forth by the company.

Any janitorial experience gets you to the front of the line.

I was called by my employer this morning and told not to report for my duties for the next few days. I did not get much info but they told me the FAA is reviewing my file because of "operating the cockpit in an immoral way".

What is this BS and what could it mean? Basically, I am on a paid suspension.

How's that investigation going, Skippy?

Oakum......What is this hardon you have for B6. I notice you throw that cleaning jab out every chance you get. Dude..By the looks of your profile you work for a regional. Even if you’re a captain...most of our F/O's are making more than you on the BUS. I've done the regional thing more than once and guarantee that even if I cleaned the whole plane, you are still doing more than me for less money.

BTW... how about focusing that negative energy into getting your newhires paid while they are in training .....or better yet helping donate some of your monster salary to those at your company making less than 25 grand a year.

I think we need to tighten up that interview process when we start up again!

Ignore this dweeb please. He's not a representitive sample.

Will do F9. You guys are a great outfit. I didn't think you had many of those types there.

What a sorry individual you are Frontier1, maybe pathetic is a better description? Anybody???....

HUGE penis is the best description I can think of for Frontier1. I'd think that he would be bumping into things all the time since he has a set of ball$ hanging down over his eyes.

Not sure, I've been too wasted to live in reality. I am sure it has worked itself out by now.
