Got a call today from an excited pilot who had just been called for 14 Oct interviews at Jetblue.

I plan on holding a workshop/class 4-5 October if anyone cares to join us....details on website on September dates also apply to that weekend. Link is below:

FYI....ALL my calls on the Sept crew were regional/furloughed major guys. Doesn't mean mil guys won't be there, but I've heard the "am I competitive?" question quite a bit from regional and furloughed national type guys. Answer appears to be "heck yes!". My June folks were largely furloughed US Air and military...this crew seems to be a lot more regional guys.

JeffG, JayDub, Eagleflip, and a bunch of other Jetblue captains have said all along they look for "total package", not just flight time, military time, or previous Major experience. Just throwing that out saying apply and hope for the best--they seem to look for a wide cross sections of backgrounds.

Good luck everyone!

Albie,

Could you shoot me an email at [email protected], please? I'm in the October 14th interview, and I'm very interested in your interview prep. But, I'm in Kuwait City until Oct 7/8 or so. I'd like to talk to you about other options. Thanks.

thanks. will do....

Bad-Andy:

Are those ERJs that you are flying in Kuwait the ones with winglets ? I was in there the other day and couldn't quite figure out what they were. There were two of them sitting on the ramp by the terminal. What is the mission ?

Good Luck with the JB interview.

Typhoon,

Yep, those are our Embraers with the winglets. They're the Legacy (14 seat executive cabins). They're basically 135s (37 seaters) with winglets, XR motors, and a crap-load more gas.

Right now our mission is to sit in front of the X-Box and see how good we can get at Halo... :D No, seriously, we're a Part 135 Charter operation waiting on charters. But, as soon as they get us off the US certificate and onto their own Kuwaiti certificate, we'll be going up north a bunch into the various bases. Just waiting on that....
