Just got hiring info from Verna Kay the other day.....So even with 4 190's coming on board this year no hiring in 2010. They will start building a pool around June. Anticipate hiring again in 2011.

The most recent SEC filings indicate that hiring is highly probable for 2011, as there are firm aircraft orders from both manufacturers on the delivery schedule:

2010: 4 E190, 0 A320

2011: 5 E190, 8 A320

LGB-No Growth, very senior.
LAX-No Growth, Co-Base with LGB.
B6-No Growth, not hiring.
Chance of getting LGB as a junior pilot, impossible!

Commuting to JFK, sucks!

Hey, just becaue the hardstands in Parcel Z have a bunch of "this week only, great deals on get-em-cheap" Airbuses parked there.... No biggee if we become an all Embraer operator, right?

Bigo. Who gives a poop on a delivery schedule. The KEY factor is how many NET airframes are on property.

A delivery schedule without a retirement schedule is meaningless.

How does the LGB flying compare to JFK flying? Are the LGB pilots basically flying 90% transcons (long haul) interspersed with a few flights to Vegas and Salt Lake? I imagine JFK-based flying on the Airbus gets a good mix of short and long-haul flying...

johnsonrod,
Check your PM.
Dont get illusioned with the LGB flying because you wont do much of it your first 5 years in jetBlue
