I got a call last week asking about class dates and availability, that didnt mean I was offered a job yet. Still patiently waiting...

Haven't heard anything yet, but if you're going to be put in the Aug 3rd class, they said they would try to notify 'just at or barely with' two weeks notice. So by this coming wednesday, I would think some folks would be getting their call. JB is pushing hard to fill those classes and speeding up the background checks...which is what we like to hear!

hello all! i got the call from Verna Kay yesterday with the good news and an invite to attend the 8/3 'Bus class. i am psyched and ready for the kool-aid drinking to begin! good luck to the rest of you and hope to see you all in class! :)

Just curious if your background was military? Just guessing, but it seems like the military folks would be the easiest to get through the background check procedure....

Looking forward to the call. Good luck

Verna called me yesterday morning and offered me an Aug 3th class in the airbus. I gladly accepted as its time to get off the independence air roller coaster.

Welcome to Jetblue,

Be sure to take some time off with your family and friends before ground school, the 39 days or so is a long time. Remember sip don't gulp the Kool-aid, and enjoy.

;)

Guys
Welcome anf congrats!! Hurry up and get to the line. We are sooo short pilots the training center won't be able to keep up. Glad your going to the new training center. It is very nice. I just finished upgrade training there and it is really state of the art.

EMB positions are going out already. I think the first class is in August.

Do new hires go into the EMB 190.....or still into the 320 right seat, or is there a mix ?

Is there a freeze from 320 F/O to EMB 190 CA ?

320AV8R

If you are the first class for the EMB in August, will you get FO or Captain? Also, has JB changed the pay rates for the EMB yet?
I am assuming that the only EMB base right now is JFK, is that correct?

Still patiently awaiting my turn....
5200tt, 2200pic. Hello JetBlue? I am ripe for the pickin'

Congrats to all of you that got it.

New hires get to choose if they want to go to the EMB, or the Bus.

In oct 2007 is when a person go from one type to the other.

The first years worth of EMB Captains will be current Bus FO's who were awarded the position back in May.

Only JFK, No changes in pay.

When Jetblue called to update me last week they informed me that the breakdown off classes for Aug. were as follows:

Aug 3rd - Airbus
Aug 17th - Airbus & 1st newhire E190 class
Aug 31st - Airbus & E190 class.

During this conversation I was asked which aircraft I perferred to fly. I must say I have been very impressed with JetBlue's professionalism to date.

Have any of you that got a classdate had a period of unemployment in your background (like being furloughed and collecting unemployment)?

I did when I got hired several years ago. Don't sweat it man or ma'am.

sorry for the late reply there HOF, but my background includes military and 121. not sure about how much easier it is for military dudes regarding background checks. i imagine that if one was not forthcoming about anything in his/her history of any significance, regardless of military background (traffic tickets, misdemeanors, serious credit issues, etc.), there could be some problems passing a background check.

good luck to ya'! hope to see you in class!

just got the call for august 3 class!

Just got a call for the august 3 class on the bus! They are still waiting on the fingerprint results, and the training records from my current employer, but they want to start me anyway. I hope I see a lot of the cool people I met at the interview in a few weeks down in orlando. Thanks to all who answered questions for me while I was going through the whole process.

Countryflyer(hopefully, soon to be Jetblueflyer)

The first EMB190 Newhire class is August 17th. I was looking for the quick upgrade and decided to defer until then. Verna said it was a class of 6. Although the pay isn't stellar, being in the top 6 sure will be nice when it comes to bidding. If the upgrade really turns out to be 10-12 months I'll be a very happy guy! See you all in MCO.
