Anybody know when 'Blue is suppose to start calling for their mext round of interviews?

dl

Friend of mine was called yesterday to interview soon. Sorry, but I think he said in 2 weeks

PUKE

Tanker,
Good to hear they are calling. What is his background and did he go to the Air Inc Seminar in Dallas? Any additional information would be interesting.

Hope more people hear good news soon. Tell him congrats for me. Are you currently flying T-1s if so where?

We nomally do an interview of about 50-80 people every other month. I think the last one was Jan 15 so the next one should be in early march. The really cool thing about our interview is it is a very low stress event the 2 people you will be talking to just want to get a feel for what type of person you are. We also pay for your hotel and if you need a cab for LGA we pay for that too.

good luck to all

I think Dean said either Mar 5 or 6 was the next interview date. They were re-working the on-line apps and fine tuning the database criteria early last week to get the latest info on the interviewees.

I've posted this info on other threads, but it seems relevant here as well.

Dean's latest stats are that about 80% of those interviewed go to Phase II and about 90% of those in Phase II get hired. Those not hired usually have something in their background check that doesn't pan out well.

Hope this helps and happy landings

Hey Tanker,

Did your friend get called by JB for a March interview? Anyone out there getting called? Insights......anyone.......Bueler.......Bueler?

I haven't heard of any calls yet. I think the application update email they sent to everyone was a clue that they wanted everyone to have the opportunity to correct their applications before the draw.

Thanks for the quick reply, Chaz. What "generic application update" are you referring to? I've had mine ine since Aug. '02 and have never received an email from 'Blue.

Thanks again.

Hmmmm...

If your email is correctly entered in the JetBlue Web Pilot Application you should have gotten an email. It basically said there were some changes to the web application and you needed to log on and make sure your information was accurate. Most of the changes were due to the split of the Turbine PIC into Turbine and PIC.

Also the email was only sent to those applications that had been on file before the changes were made.

Chaz,

Thanks for the heads up. Found the email you were talking about (sent to my old address). I'll copy it below for anyone who needs the information:

dl

MINIMUMS CHANGE:

The former requirement of “1000 hours PIC turbine” has now been split into two separate minimums:

· 1000 hours PIC

· 1000 hours turbine

FIELD NAME CHANGES:

Some fields may have been added, deleted or renamed. Please use the update feature to review your online application and adjust or re-calculate your data to reflect your background more accurately.

UPDATE FEATURE BUTTON RELOCATION:

The location of the “update” button has moved to an earlier page in the sequence. You will find it at the bottom of the “JOB LISTINGS” page. It now says, “Update Application? (Pilot)”

ONLINE REFERRAL OPTION:

When you apply for the first time OR you use the update feature to alter the data on your application at a later date, you will receive an automatically generated email message advising you of the incorporation of a new online referral program option.

While not a requirement, the online referral program allows current JetBlue employees to submit their comments about you.

To take advantage of this new program you must provide the JetBlue employee/s with your application number and Personal ID Number (PIN). Both are sent to you in the email mentioned above.

It is NOT a requirement to have referrals from JetBlue employees in order to be considered for an interview. Referrals will NOT guarantee an interview. If selected to interview, you would still be asked to bring three current letters of recommendation with you from Pilots who can attest to your flying skills and character. You may use the referrals that exist online OR you may choose other references to provide to our recruiters on the day of interview.

USE THE UPDATE FEATURE AS OFTEN AS YOU WISH. DOING SO PERIODICALLY WILL HELP ENSURE YOU REMAIN AS COMPETITIVE AS POSSIBLE:

Please use the update feature of our online system once a month or so – or anytime you have something of significance to report on your application such as address, email or flight hour changes. Again, you may access the update feature as follows:

· Go to the JetBlue website at www.jetblue.com.

· Click on the “Work Here” button at the top of the page.

· Select “Job Listings” from the choices that appear.

· Click on the button labeled, “Update Application? (Pilot)” at the bottom of the page. You must use this form to make necessary corrections to your file AND to obtain your application number and PIN.

Next two interview dates are:
5 March
30 April

4,200+ apps on file. Candidates are pulled from "live" database files. Keep it updated or somebody may edge you out. With 5-10 new apps a day, there may be 300 new guys & gals to compete against every time the list is pulled. "Competitive" numbers fluctuate with the addition of every new app.

Interviewing 65 every two months to get 50 selects for approx. 20-25 per monthly class.

Hope to see you there!

How far in advance are you notified that you were selected for an interview. Should be soon for the 5 March date. Are you notified by email/phone or both?

Hope to be wearing that blue shirt

We should be notified by both email and phone. Btw, did anyone else not get the application update email? Maybe jointops could query Dean as to why some of us did not get the update. My app was completed the first week of January, before the changes to the requirements. Good luck to us!

I would check the email that is in the application. That is the most likely culprit for you not getting the automatically generated email.

I feel confident in saying that there was no human input into who got the email and who didn't. But I am not in a position to know either way.

Chaz

I agree that there is likely little to no human input involved. I did check the email address and it was fine. I have also received my update verification when I updated it yesterday as well as when I initally filled out the app. Hope I'm still in there somewhere.

Lifter

Just received an email notification from JetBlue for a possible 6 Mar interview. I just updated my file yesterday and to my suprise they notified me today. The email states that I need to contact them for a possible interview. I called and got voice mail, then I replied to the email just to make sure I don't slip through the cracks. If I do interview, it will be approx 3 weeks from notification to interview.

Best of luck to all.

Backflip,

Good news, congrats. How long ago did you apply to 'Blue? Did you attend the AirInc. seminar at DFW last month? Anyone else out there hear anything yet?

Thanks,

dl

Lifter,

Flew T-1s at Laughlin.

dlredline,

I first applied to JetBlue 18 months ago when they had the old system. Then reapplied in Feb 2002 when the new system was put on line. I didn't attend the AirInc. conference at DFW last month, but I did a year ago. I don't think that it helped. I stood in the JB line 3 times, wore a blue tie and tried to smooze as much as possible but nothing happend. I'm just happy (and very surprised) they emailed. Hopefully I'll talk to someone tomorrow.

Good luck.

Our system is designed is to provide everybody a level playing field for getting an interview.

Just for the record, visiting us at an Air Inc. conference will not help you get an interview. Look at the Air Inc. conference as an opportunity to meet our recruiters and ask questions. The people who pull the records out of the database for interviews have no idea if you've been to an Air Inc. conference and it certainly doesn't weigh into the decision to offer you an interview.

Even the LORs we can now write online while your application is on file are not even considered until after you are selected to interview.

Those looking for an inside track may find it frustrating that there is no inside track! That is by design in our attempt to be as fair as possible to all qualified candidates. The best thing you can do is check you online application and update at least once a month. Good luck!

Email from Dean

If you didn't get the update email from Dean, and your email is all correct in the online application, PM me with your email address and I'll ask Dean if he included you in the group emailing, or if you slipped through the cracks somehow. I know he attempted to email everybody with a current online application on file. If he missed somebody, I'm sure he would like to investigate why. If there is a trend, I'm sure our IT guys will investigate and fix the disconnect.

While he tried to send one to everybody in a bulk mailing, with 4,200+ apps on file, some of them may have been rejected by email servers or gotten lost in the system. When he was trying to notify several of us about class date information over a year ago, he had some problems with getting the emails through AOL. I know he looked into the problem and fixed it somehow, but I'm not sure how.

dlredline,
The people I know that got notified were required to return their package by 18 Feb. So I'm assuming that if we haven't got notified by now, its not good news.
Let's hope the rumor about another round in Apr is true. Good luck to both of us.

One guy average time 3300 T-1s, KC-10s KC-135s,
One guy furloughed airlines 5000+ A-320
other guy C-141 DC-9 furloughed ex mil 7000+.

I don't see a pattern except a diverse grouping from all fields. Which is what I heard they are trying to do, keep a good cross-section of individuals to work off each others strengths. Guess my 5000+ C-17, T-1A, C-141 time didn't spark the computer to spit me out. Hopefully, maybe the next round.

Have you heard if the 15 Apr interview is a rumor of somewhat a fact?

Another 5 weeks of wondering, boy I look forward to that.

Good luck to all the really want to fly for JetBlue

30 Apr -- Count on it

No question about it. Interviews are currently scheduled for 30 Apr. Maybe I'll see you there.
