Anyone have information on when JetBlue will begin interviewing again now that the Jan. 15th group is done?
 
The word on the street is Mar 5 (or maybe 6). I was zoning during that part of the conversation. It's desginated to go every other month.

They do a search every 6 weeks to come up with the next interviewees. Dean's advice is to update monthly.

When you update monthly, be absolutely certain to update your availability date.

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR AVAILABILITY DATE IS THE CURRENT MONTH OR A FUTURE MONTH.

Do not have a past month as your availability -- Dean personally told me this. For some reason, if a past date shows as your availability, your update may not be completely recognized.

I've had my application in since last August (put it in on the day U filed for bankruptcy. Decided to cut the cord then and there). Any other helpful hints? Everybody I speak with who works LOVES JB, and I'd sure like to get the chance to talk with them. Just wondering what the secret is.

Make sure also that when you update your app, that it actually updates. I went back to check after I updated, and the entries I had updated did NOT update, so I had to do it again. Thanks for the info on the availability date. Mine was wrong...
 
OK, for sake of not confusing things, here goes:

Dean also said once you've been passed on to Phase II (and only after you're into Phase II), the JB pilot LORs would weigh more heavily in your favor than some other pilot from anywhere else.

We can't do much to get you the interview, but our recommendations weigh heavier in your favor than anyone else's might.

That being written, Dean also said that about 90% of those going into Phase II are hired. So don't sweat not having a JB pilot write a LOR for you. Those not being hired usually have something in their background check.

Also, as far as the "Should I get an A-320 type?" goes. Dean said specifically that without the time developed in the type, the type won't weigh in your favor. If you're an Airbus pilot, good on 'ya. If not, don't sweat getting the type. It isn't required for an interview (regardless of the rumors).

Thanks for the info. Do you (or anyone out there) happen to know how many get called for the Phase I interview, and from that, what percentage get called to Phase II. Curious what the standard is to get to Phase I, and then to Phase II. Sounds like those called back have a high rate of invite to a class.

They interview around 65-80 each round. Depends on what the computer selects for that month. Of those about 75-80% go on to Phase II.

The mins on the website are what get you into Phase I. However, the selection process can be fine tuned by the company (in terms of hours, experience, etc.). I do know, across the board, they select the criteria and then ask the computer to give them the 135, 121, military, charter, regional pilots that fit those criteria.

If you're invited to interview, they want you. Those who routinely don't make it through Phase II have something in their background check that came up.

I wish I read this yesterday. KC-10, I wish I new that little bit of kowledge for my previous updates. Now I'm too late. I went to update my app and the update page is gone. I read they are sorting for the next interview group. We shall see.
