Has anyone heard a good fart joke lately?

Thanks man. I just laughed out loud! Nothing funnier than a fart. As my dad always said he who farts in church sits in own pew.

Did the analyst say Jetblue would siphon off other passengers from Southwest, Virgin, and Airtran, with those routes from LAX to JFK and BOS? Ok, only Virgin competes on those routes (JFK), and so do every other major almost. Delta, American, United, and CAL (through EWR though) fly that route, and it will be ultra competitive. Southwest and Airtran do not. Airlines that fly to BOS from LAX are Delta, United, and American. Why is Jetblue doing this? They need to put planes somewhere I guess. And one of the other analysts stated JB would have to offer "different" routes from LAX, BUR, and LGB to stay profitable. Well, I guess they haven't done that yet with JFK and BOS. (BUR doesn't go nonstop to BOS on JB yet, though) And they stated they will offer more connections available. To where? Lufthansa and Aerlingus both already fly to LAX, and where will JB passengers connect to? SYR and PWM?
I guess NYC is big enough to allow a major player in JFK to have flights to LAX, but they are going into a hornet's nest. Virgin and Jetblue will be fighting for the same passengers--the ones with no connections and smaller budgets, and Virgin has been on the route for awhile now (LAX-JFK).

Bye Bye--General Lee

"Why are they doing this?"...And the answer is LH Code share! The rest of the west coast expansion well be made public later today and in the coming months.

When are we gonna see E190s out West? Any time soon?

Also, will JB expect to use Luftansa's gates at LAX? Is that the idea? If so, doesn't Lufthansa currently use the Bradley terminal (international)? How will that work?

I remember hearing the same blah..blah..blah... when we started:

JFK-BOS
IAD-BOS
JFK-ORD

etc... etc... etc...

Throw in 35000lbs of fuel and and cheap tickets and watch the money flow. AA will clean B6's clock if you cut into there margins(which aren't good on transcons anyway).

Heard the same thing about UAL and AW. When asked at the conference call, Barger said transcons were holding their own.

But hey, look at the bright side, we are all just pawns!

Hey General,
I've been flying the Airbus for 6+ years for two different airlines. Over 90% of my flying has been transcons. I've done a tech stop twice.....one for brand x and once for B6. It's not near the big deal you would like it to be.

Move along...nothing to see here....

Ditto. 2 years on the Bus at B6. Mostly transcons. One tech stop and it was planned by dispatch before we left the gate.

AA used to do LGB-JFK but could not compete with B6 on the route and quit. I expect the LAX-JFK coach will find the B6 a much better value then the AA coach.

that's gotta add at least an hour to the flight time.

was it sold as a "non-stop" flight? if so, I'd be pissed if i was a pax.

2 plus years on the bus, 1 tech stop (in early 2006). 30 minutes on ground in MSP, still on time in CA (can't remember the city).

The TVs and XM babysit our pax. It really helps them forget where they are.

That is unless they are frozen to the tarmac (whatever that is) for 8 hrs.

That's interesting news. I assume the E190 will be popular among senior Airbus FOs wanting to relocate to the West Coast.

While the E190 will be on the west coast, it will still only be based at JFK and BOS...maybe MCO soon enough. There are no plans for a west coast E190 base although we hear rumors of way off in the future. With that said, until there is a E190 base on the west coast, they would not bid it as they are set on the 320 in JFK.

YEAH! As if the LAX-NYC transcons aren't already hyper competitive. More cheap fares and crowded airspace!

Hey the Germans are pulling the strings on this one. Its so the Herrs and Fruelins of the world can get to NY and BOS if they fly Berlin to LA first...
