---JETBLUE HALVES REQUEST FOR O'HARE FLIGHTS---

JetBlue reportedly has revised its request for landing authorizations
at Chicago O'Hare down to four. The carrier had previously asked for
authorization to operate eight flights there
. Reports say JetBlue hopes
to announce details of its proposed Chicago service by the end of the
month and could be flying by Jan. 27.

JB was also crying about not being able to serve Dallas Love Field after a deal on the Wright Amendant was reached. Where were you two years ago JB?

Some ol' song and dance. I for one am getting tired of it.

How much revenue does JetBlue expecting to make at O'hare? Will it be a connect the dots deal between the west and east coast? Will the RJ fly out of there or just the A-320?? Sounds like an interesting expansion.

I would guess that yes, it would be a connect the dots from the east and west. Maybe 2 flights from LGB and 2 from JFK but that is just a guess. You also have MCO and BOS that could work their way into the market. As for the aircraft type, who knows. More than likely the 320 but this is all a guess. As for the, as you call it, RJ....it is nowhere close to an RJ. Many here will come back and make a smart A comment about the rates being RJ rates and all, but as for the aircraft itself, far from an RJ.

I am willing to bet ORD will not be a connect the dots city. Revenue management and route planning will simply send flights to JFK adding to the already over stressed infrastructure.

So sorry for the inconvenience. Now be on your way and go suck an egg.

Gives 'em a new place for "technical" stops.

Not on this topic. Raggin' ain't bitchin'. I bitched on the other thread.

Longhorn,

I might not be an RJ, but the pay sure looks like it!

And where do you work? I see the 747 on the profile. If it's UPS, I'll stand down, any other and your just flying more for less than anyone else. You stuck the neck out, now come clean. Everyone of the carriers other than UPS is getting a HUGE $78-85 an hour for 747 Capt in the first year. I believe the 747 holds about 320,000lbs of FUEL, compared to the E190 max gross wt of 110,000lbs.

For the record OUR E190 pay SUCKS! But dude, before you throw stones look in your own house. (If you are UPS, I retract my post directed to you and pass it off to all those other guys)(As for UPS, thanks for holding the Bar high for us all to work towards and improving the collective futures of this profession... Oh ya, and FedEx... and lets not forget SWA).

*The 320,000lbs was a SWAG!

747 guys at Cathay do pretty darn well brotha...and unfortunately everyone is right, the E190's pay is absolutely haenious...and most E190 guys would agree wholeheartedly.

Sailpilot,

I used to work for Jetblue. Hired in spring '03, moved on to greener pastures. I put out apps after I received a surprise DHL package from Jerblue. Seems they were changing the "agreement" and also the new agreement had the -190 rates. Luckily I found a better job, and yes, I am making more than I would as a 320 captain at Jetblue.

Jetblue isn't a bad company and there are many great guys that work there. But those -190 rates are a real joke...

As for the pay....I agree, not close to what it should be. I did look and found it funny now that I noticed but the license does say ERJ, kinda odd. Anyways, my point was compared to the standard 35-50 seat crj/erj....the 190 is not an RJ...ok, except the pay...and hopefully that will change soon. Size wise...the 190 is 4 feet 4 inches shorter than the bus.

look at the fine print

The pay at Cathay is actually not that good if you look at the whole package. You're most likely hired as a 74-4 FO on the freighter based in LAX paying U.S. taxes because Cathay created a U.S. based "holding company" for that operation which defeats the whole purpose of flying for a foreign carrier if you're paying U.S. income tax.

Not true many many NA's go to HK.

Yeah - the pay at Cathay is pretty darn good...and the point is, it is far, far better than a 190 FO at Jetblue. Plus Cathay is a consistent strong money making machine, Jetblue has yet to clear that hurdle. Apples and oranges.

Thanks for telling me to read the fine print - I just got my bifocals on.
