It seems this rumor won't go away, I'm still working on more confirmation, but apparently there was a meeting this morning in denver with a couple 'high level' folks from Jetblue. So far all I can find out is that they/we may be starting a codeshare type of arrangement, nothing more at this time. Anyone have any other info?

Maybe. Don't think it will save either of them in the long run, though.

A codeshare leaves both airlines top heavy with operation costs. A merger or acquisition would be a smarter move, but I don't think JB wants to take the risk of having Denver become an albatross.

Still, the fleets could be merged pretty easily, they both have LiveTV, and they both have a strong customer loyalty to bank on. It could work...

Oh, yeah...Frontier has a CBA. Guess who gets the biggest slice of the pie...

This rumor has been going around for awhile...as we all know...a couple months back we had some "high-level" JB people out in DEN looking at the operation. Was even told by a ramper who was showing the "JB crew" around that they were seeing what they could do with some of our crew buildings there. Heard nothing of it after that until now, but who knows, i know we are looking at more code shares besides the "semi" code share thing we have going with AirTran.

Um...yeah....I'm pretty sure that us having a CBA wouldn't be a factor in anyones book. If anything was to happen we seem to have similiar pilot groups in that we have favorable relationships with our management and aren't out to screw the customer or each other every chance we get. That, and, I'm pretty sure that we aren't in a position to be asking for big pieces. Just a thought.

My guess would be not the bankrupt carrier?:erm:

Didn't USAir guys get the top 500 slots when they merged while in Chapter11 (I know the furloughed guys got hosed)? Does Chapter 11 forfeit the CBA in any kind of M&A deal?

Now that Frontier's in bankruptcy, all the debt issues that made them less desirable (from a financial prospective) become a little more flexible. We just need to get our German overlords to finance the deal. The JB plus F9 route map makes for a truly nationwide carrier.

Just my opinion, but on a cultural level, it makes for a good combination. Who knows?

A little known fact; C. Collins is actually a visitor from Mars, and he is going to be beamed up shortly.

AHA! Chris Collins used to work for JetBlue -- there's the conspiracy.
