Hi guys. One topic I haven't seen much discussion on is flight benefits. How do they work? Are they useful? Are the loads such that nonrev travel is possible? Are there online tools for listing and checking in?

Thanks!

They're fantastic, with 2 jumpseats on every airbus. On hip hop weekend it might be hard to get a seat in the back but otherwise you'll find a seat except on a weekend or a holiday, or when you just finished a redeye. What's best is when you go to an offline jumpseat and the crew laughs at you in your blue shirt, the tsa shirt, the one identical to an airways F/A shirt.

I'm sorry, but you must not have noticed that was a serious question.

Flight benni's here are just like anywhere else. You have the JS, non-rev, zed fares, interline agreements, and intl. code share stuff you can use. You can non-rev if you plan and watch the loads. If your at ASA you know how they work. We use myidtravel.com for listing and check it. It's not the best system, but it works.

As the tard said, there are two cockpit jumpseats (one on the E190). We can also fill up every empty passenger seat with non-revs. Offline pilots used to be able to use FA jumpseats, but that is no longer.

You and your family - wife, kids, two parents - get unlimited free pass flying. All crewmembers get allotted a number a buddy passes each quarter to use for other people. There is a fee for buddy pass use depending on length of the flight.

All listings for jb crew, family, buddy passers is done online through a site called myidtravel. You can also check the loads there. The bad part is that you become the travel agent for your pass rider. Mostly likely, the folks at the airport can't/won't help them out if there is a problem. Not sure why that is.

"Are they useful"? That's a good question. I've helped folks out with a lot of buddy passes. The majority of the time they get where they want to go on the first try, but we've had to send some people home and have them come back another day due to full planes. Summertime and holidays are difficult times for non-revvers. Load factors are pretty high during those periods.

Everyone on a pass can check in online up to 24 hours prior to departure time. Note - if they have a connection, they will only be shown as checked in for the first leg. You can re-check in for the second leg 24 hours prior to its departure or have them do it at the airport counter.

Hope this all helps. Good luck.

Thanks! That's what I wanted to know. Since no one had ever mentioned it, I wasn't sure if you even had family travel benefits.

Tard huh, yeah, good one, clever, you're a smart one you are. Can you explain what a crewmember is? You mention it in your post. Is it all 14,000 employees? They are the crewmembers you speak of? So you're saying these people all have the same poor retirement and medical benefits as pilots? What kind of place are you working for anyway? And their pass riding is equal to a pilot?

If 'Tard' offended you, you might want to change your screen name.

A 'crewmember', as referenced by the company, is any person working for JetBlue. A 'Flight Crew' member is a pilot, navigator, or flight engineer. Since JetBlue does not employ navigators or flight engineers, pilots are the only Flight Crew.

That does seem to be the state of things.

What kind of place are you working for anyway?

I work for a JetBlue Airways. If you'd like to know more about them, click here: http://jetblue.com/about/

And their pass riding is equal to a pilot?

Yes. All JetBlue crewmembers receive the same pass-riding privileges.

Do you really work here or just throwing flamebait around?

Yup, and this management team is embarrassing. Crewmember bs and no accountability while diluting the living sh!t out of the stock. They all need to go, from the top on down. A very poor place to work.

Please, for the love of God, give it a rest already.
