AA doesn't fly the Airbus last time I checked.

Not really that surprising. With the economy the way it is, I think all airlines are in slow growth mode. They have finally brought the capacity down to where they can make money, I doubt they are going to go crazy adding capacity back.

I think UAL said they were only looking to increase capacity 1-2% next year.

Trust me, I would love to see airlines growing like crazy, I just don't think we are in that kind of environment.

I'd rather see slow steady growth than big fast expansion causing a big pull back like what was going to happen around 9-11 until thoes events compounded the issue.

Hmmm...well doing the math for leases that are "up" on certain dates, I suppose the total accural of A/C could be different. BUT...it didn't specifically say that those A/C will be dumped...or kept either.
