Well, no. I was very specific with my nouns. I said "Airline" and "CEO". A former President of the United States is not an "airline CEO".

Nouns are words we use to identify people, places, or things. If I mean a four-legged domestic feline. I type "c-a-t". That means I'm not referring to a four-legged domestic canine...which would be a "dog".

I select my nouns based on the topic and their applicability to the topic.

(lemme know if I'm going to fast for you...)

So you see, "former Presidents of the United States" doesn't fit into the same category as "airline CEO's".

Dismissed.
Cats, dogs, nouns--I was never good with math.

Well, there are a couple of points to take away here.

#1 We don't "FIM" pax over to other airlines because when you buy a ticket on Jetblue it's "money up front" so to speak. We don't over sell flights and when you buy a ticket you really do get that seat. What a novel idea if you ask me. Now, you can change the reservation for a nominal fee, but the seat is yours to lose.
#2 The refunds you talk about ($156) where what they paid for the ticket? As far as having to buy a ticket on another carrier for $700, Well they are legally getting raped. Take a look at our "Walk up Fares" we don't stick it to someone when we certainly could.

So, tell me how JetBlue wants to hold you captive?

Rule 240 is in the vocabulary of every business traveler, and they know that B6 does not participate. I know of a few business travelers who have been burned by this. Why spend an extra night in a hotel away from the family when empty seats are available to get you where you want to be.

David N is very good at speaking with someone like matt lauer in a controlled environment. David Letterman asking loaded questions with a punchline for the audience is a completely different animal.. I think he did fine under the circumstances

I have no dog in this fight, but, everything I have seen or heard in the media regarding JB has been...let's just say.....not so good. And Neeleman looked horrible on Letterman. I admit, he was on the spot, but nevertheless.

I have to give him credit where credit is due. He is trying to make a bad situation better with some PR spin on it to limit collateral damage. I didn't see the Letterman show but you don't see very many CEO's at least try to make it right and explain themselves on national TV. Jet Blue will survive and learn from this and be a better airline.

Neeleman did what he could when asked the ?'s. Frankly, if ANY OTHER airline CEO would ever submit to being interviewed by Letterman I'd be amazed.

Of all of the CEO's, I could see, perhaps, Kelleher. He'd have a smoke in one hand and a glass of Wild Turkey in the other. But then again, he's not calling the shots at WN right now.

So I think Neeleman showed courage and humility. If he stumbled a little, at least he tried.

Exactly!

"At least he tried..." You could say the same thing about Nevil Chamberlain....you know..."Peace in our time...I can work with Herr Hitler..."

And now, breaking news:

Bush: I’ll Bring Troops Home on JetBlue

No Exact Timetable, President Says

Under increased pressure to announce an exit strategy from Iraq, President George W. Bush revealed plans today to bring U.S. troops home on the budget airlines JetBlue.

Mr. Bush received praise for his decision to withdraw American troops, but his choice of JetBlue to transport them raised more than a few eyebrows.

According to most official estimates, with its recent spate of scheduling problems and flight delays, JetBlue could take up to seven years to bring U.S. troops home, and possibly ten years in the event of inclement weather.

But at a press conference at the White House today, the president argued that the selection of Jet Blue was “crucial” to the success of his latest exit strategy.

“Setting an exact timetable for a withdrawal from Iraq would be playing right into the enemy’s hands,” Mr. Bush said. “By going with JetBlue, our enemy will have no idea when we’re leaving.”

To emphasizes his point, Mr. Bush added, “And neither will we.”

Across Iraq, U.S. GIs were hopeful that the news about JetBlue meant that they would be home by Christmas, or at least by Easter 2012.

Yeah, Retired Guy. Nice.

Let's see...Chamberlain summing up @sshole of the Century Hitler as he saw it...Neeleman, showing humility and personal accountability and apologizing numerous times in public.

Good comparison. "Apples...meet pork chops."
