JetBlue further cuts growth expectations

NEW YORK (AP) -- JetBlue Corp. said Tuesday it is paring down its growth expectations further for the full-year as broader economic weakness continues to push down passenger demand.
The carrier now expects growth to be flat to 2 percent higher this year, compared with a previous forecast for 3 percent growth. The company earlier this year projected growth of 6 to 9 percent. JetBlue is posting negative growth numbers this quarter for the first time in the company's history.

Powers also declined to speculate on how the possible formation of a pilot's union will affect the carrier's costs, saying it remains unclear whether organizing efforts will result in a union for JetBlue pilots.
