some if it makes sense...but neither of us are in an awesome finacial position to be the aggressor. They have started to release ships too.

Yes we both have the 320 family, yes we both have LiveTv. But I don't think now is the time. I hope it's never, I don't want to have to go through all the bs in a merger/buyout. I've heard/hearing too many horror stories.

Makes sense.......if you ignore Lufthansa's relationship with fellow Star co-founder United and their DEN hub as well as the absolutely amazing parallel with People Express and Frontier I, although I'm sure someone will find a way to spin that otherwise.

Jetblue & Frontier

Toss Spirit into the mix and you have a true common fleet LCC that covers the three most important market areas (northeast, Florida & Carribean, and the West).

Sounds crazy but with airlines disappearing daily not entirely impossible...

if UAL (Star) and CAL (Skyteam) get together after any NWA merger...might not be as big of a deal as it is today.

especially if the only remaining alternatives are BK or liquidation.

No need to respin, you speak the truth. Of course the last shotgun wedding you reference kinda actually worked, in a sick, disfunctional sort of way.

We are all going broke quite nicely on our own, no need to speed things up.

Mergers...

The end of everyone's problems...
Bigger airline/route with possible feed benefits/economies of scale?
Denver...?? War Zone with SWA/UAL
Frontier Feeder startup fiasco?
FLL Spirit Ops?? If they had the terminal space/logisitics... that would help.

The only people GUARANTEED to make out are the lawyers, bankers and executives. And Ben Baldanza and his group over at Spirit? They would need to be taken out on a boat in FLL and pushed over the side.
