Total time, turbine PIC, 121 vs 91k/135, 4 year, etc...

Only thing I can tell you was my sim partner was a 10 year Xjet captain. His buddy in class with him was an Xjet FO with no PIC.

Seems like they are coming from all kinds of experience levels.

In the last 6 months I have had 2 friends interview and get hired. 1 had a lot of RJ FO time and about 200 hours of Q-400 PIC time. Another friend had just over 1000 hours PIC time in a 50 seat RJ. We hire with every sort of time and education. Military, charter, regional, cargo, etc. The only kicker seems to be currency. If you are current you could get hired with anything from 402 PIC time up to 20,000 hours of 747 time, 400 ocean crossings, and F-16 guard time on the side. If you are not current it seems you have no chance. Good luck man

Does Jetblue make much of an effort to build commutable lines?

For example a previous carrier built AM and PM lines mostly. But built some 4 days that were commutable on both ends.

Well like everywhere seniority will dictate your schedule the most. Also if you are willing to work weekends and red eyes that will make a huge difference. I am a commuter, I am a little over half up the FO seniority list in base. I usually get one commutable both ends trip a month. The other 2-3 trips are always very commutable on one end. Think 3-11pm starts. I prefer commutable front end and not back if I cant get both ends. At my seniority you can have all commutable both end trips and never spend a night in a pad if you are willing to work the week ends. I am not so I typically spend 3 thursday nights a month in my pad. The 320 has more commutable both ends trips due to the red eyes. The 190 has less commutable both ends, but no red eyes to deal with. Typically the non commutable both ends trips are very high time trips and seem to go pretty senior to the guys that live in base. I also mix match trips to get commutable both ends, but that also puts me in the pad one day a week anyway.

My milage is similar. Last year was half 3rd and half 4th year pay and made $102k as a 190 FO and I flew min credit and commute. This year; half 4th and half 5th year pay I am looking at $140k give or take a few thousand as a 320 FO working min credit and getting 16-17 days off/mo. Disclaimer: I sold back 100hrs of PTO on Jan 8 at time and a half. So that was an extra $16k in one check. This also includes the $3k in profit sharing we got this year. Company 401k contributions this year will be about $16k.

Upgrades are currently less than 4 years on both airplanes so In theory you could be making in the vicinity of $180-$200k/year as an airbus capt by your 5th year on property assuming things stay the same. We will most likely have a new CBA in 5 years with rates similar to AA so I would say $150k/yr as a 320 FO will be easily achievable. Also willing to bet better reserve rules in a CBA will jump upgrade up to 7 years on the 320 vs. 4. Just my guess though.

In order to do that as a 5 year 320 FO you need to AVERAGE 103 hrs pr month..... doesn't seems like min credit.....

I actually think it is very informative for people who are looking to leave their current job to see what kind of yearly income they are looking at if they go to certain companies.

Or start the year by selling 100 hrs of PTO at time and a half. Then be smart enough to stay in the right seat, not upgrade, and be able to bid your vacations off vs. using PTO. Not having kids and being young and healthy are key to this as well. I credit about 85 hrs per month with an average of 16 days off per month.
