Hello,
A furloughed friend off mine is looking for a cheap Jet type rating.
He has heavy time with the airlines and will be offered a job as
long he has "a jet type rating".
Does anyone know or recommend an place where he can obtain this quick and cheap.

Thank MXD

what rating?
ANY type rating???

wow, that sounds like a fishy job requirement to me!....

but....I would guess a Citation type rating is the easiest and cheapest to get....if that counts as a "jet"

What heavy did he fly with the airlines that isn't a jet and doesn't require a type rating? Sounds like he should already have one?
Regards,

Regards,

If he served as SIC for a major airline, he isn't required to be typed in the aircraft .... in most cases. I've only met a handful of wide-body First Officers that were typed, flying international routes for United and similar companies.

I am furloughed too and was looking into getting a type rating. I look all over and found this place. The best price around. Plus the owner is an old navy buddy of mine. Give it a try..I did and is great.
