Heard a rumor on the JS the other day that due to JB losses that they are currently, or going to be asking concessions of pilot group. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I think it is only a concession if they agree to it. If it is imposed I think they call it a paycut.

I doubt the 190 rates are comming down, that would be flat wrong! I could see an adjustment to the pay above 70 hours thing or a freeze on the A320 rates blah blah blah.

Maybe they will take away the hefty retirement 401k match. Nevermind, that wont save much.

Here is an idea, replace all pay with stock options!

Yea, the unions at Delta, Northwest, United, and Alaska showed them. No concessions, our union would never let that happen.

Dumba$$

pay raise

We're acutally getting a pay raise! Since we're not paying for our planes, after selling 2-5 of them we're going to split the money (profit sharing). Also the Brazilians are giving us an interest free loan for all the 190s.

Fuzzy accounting.

What happens next is a cost reduction program by mgt, typically effecting those outside the pilot group the most. I have seen it happen at larger companies, things that most of us consider trivial or stupid will now get cut.

When it reaches the pilot group it will be in things that they have little control over. Example, quality of hotels. If mgt can cut a few dollars from each hotel for each FA and pilot that over nights, that equates to a huge savings. Getting rid of A320's as they come off warranty or as they come up for costly maintenance and replacing them with new 190's under warranty.

If things are still bad next year or if oil reaches the point of drastic measures ( what that is who knows, right now it's $74 and climbing but if you are Tilton you still think $50 a barrel is where it will average out to). Then mgt may come to the pilot group and ask for help. That would be a drastic measure. Something like taking overtime and reducing it from 1.5X to 1.25X would happen long before mgt cut salaries.

Again it's amazing how those on the outside know what's going on inside. No concessions, in fact a change from the original message about upgrades and hiring just was posted to show upgrades in June and the fall, with hiring in June and the fall for Airbus. Next time ask and get your facts straight instead of trying to flame on something you know nothing about.

Nobody from JetBlue will come on here and tell you the truth, but I will. We're taking large paycuts, down to about 50% of what we're making now. We need to keep our competitive edge. A bonus would be to force further paycuts from pilot groups that deny us the jumpseat a lot. With any luck there will be mass pilot walkouts, a number of chapter 7 filings and we'll have the industry to ourselves in a few years. And this is all because we hate you and want to destroy the profession for a pop in our stock options.

Next?

Ding! Ding! We have a winner! And the award for Best Paranoid Take Over the World Post in a Comedy is ..........

Mr. Blue Dude!

ACTUALLY -- what the jumpseater didn't tell you was that jb concessions are things like hotdogs, funnel cakes, popcorn, etc. All part of our new Return to Portliness program.

1 year contracts instead of 5.

Yeah, that will save money. Think of the training costs.

As someone alluded to earlier, we got an update from Dave B. earlier today. I would post it, but I prefer to wait until a CO or DL pilot gets a hold of it and ponies it up instead.

It was surprising in that it took some of the doom/gloom out of the earlier one. Either way, JBPA won't like it.

What's a JBPA?

So lets see the new e-mail guys. The last one that was doom and gloom until Jan was posted fairly quickly. Lets get the new one up so we can see what is going on with the 320 classes.
