Does anyone know what kind of backround check Jet Blue does for the employment history? I have worked at a regional for the past 6 years. Before that, I had flight instructed for 4 years. I only put down 2 of the places that I worked which cover the full 4 years. I had about 10 part time jobs in addition to these and figured the backround check would take forever so I did not list them. I just don't want to have a problem. I have nothing to hide, I just can't remember all the dates. Does anyone have any advise. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you got fired from one of the part time jobs for some really off the wall, like drugs, alcohol, lying or stealing and there is some formal record (ie police report) somewhere. If there were some part time flying jobs there, it would help to add those because they will contact those employers and any attaboys certainly will help your chances to get on. If you did any volunteer work, Angel Flight or Young Eagles, that also helps.

Best of Luck!

Commuterhell:
The BG check is quite extensive and can take all of the six weeks that they tell you in your Phase II letter. Part of it is done in house in Salt Lake and the other is down by an outsourced company in FLL. The three LOR's are handled by the in house team in SL. They call the authors to verify. You previous employers have 30 days to submit PRIA info and some drag their feet. It can help to call an old CP and help the process along. I believe if I remember you are only required to provide a request for records form for the last five years, ie. DOT drug records, and PRIA info such as training records. I had the same issue as you with PT jobs, remembering dates and such, but they do require all jobs to be listed held in the last 10 yrs on the Application Supplement. A good contact # is usually enough for part time positions, or if they are no longer in business a contact person who can verify you worked there.
Good Luck! and I hope this helps you some?
