Just wondering if anyone knows much about Jet Aviation's "Private Fleet" of Gulfstream IIIs and IISPs? I have seen the aircraft in Scottsdale and PBI. I have seen the website - the fleet comprises 7 Gulfstreams (IIIs and IIs) and is available for charter - with some special East-West coast charter rates...

Does anyone know people who fly in this fleet? What do they think about the job? What are the conditions - morale, pay, duty time, etc. What about working for Jet Aviation - good place to work? Good and bad aspects?

Do these aircraft fly internationally or just stick to a domestic schedule?

Appreciate the info.

They're a lower-end Gulfstream charter company. Not a bad job, but not a career either. They've got a ton of resumes on file from Lear and Citation charter guys that want to upgrade to a Gulfstream and now they also have 10,000 furloughed resumes on file also. As with most charter companies there is some turnover, so they occasionally have opening. It's just a matter of being at there door at the right day and right hour, when the last guy quit or got fired!

As far as flying they are worldwide, but about 80% is domestic, they have bases in California and I think Reno also.

Basically they're like any other "desirable" charter job. It's a good company, but they know it’s a stepping stone job and they also have 10,000 resumes on hand you get treated as such.

Basically it's a good place to go to get some time in a large aircraft, hopefully get a G1159 type and then get a real corporate job where you can make some $$$.

I know a guy who flys a Gulfstream for Jet out of TEB.

He says he only flew three times last month. It's slow.

Most charter companies I've heard from say the Big Jets are slow. Small to Mids have been very busy.

I know one of the captains based out of TEB. They had a 15 on 15 off schedule, with overtime over 15 days. However, since the company went on the market, and a new CP, things are changing. I don't know in which direction, I'd be interested to know. Their charter operation is first rate, I have flown many brokered trips for Jet, they apparently have an excellent customer base.

It seems to be that all the Gulfstreams in the Northeast have become less active in this economy. I have been flying my #$$ off in our Lears, and our Hawkers too are busier, but G's are quieter. However, like all things in aviation, it's cyclical, it'll get better.
