Looking for advice on finding some sort of online Jeppesen study guide for their low and high enroute charts and approach plates.

Ive used NOS plates at my current 135 job because Jepps are so **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**in expensive.

Im sure the airline interviewers will hammer me on Jepps knowledge. I'm trying to avoid shelling out the money for the the home study program.

Any help would be great...

From the Jeps website, look for the "Chart Clinic"...best info on Jeps I 've ever seen. Used to be free...don't know now.

Used to also be published as a series in one of the magazines. Flying, I think it was.

Your absolute best bet would be to get your hands on the "Introduction" section of a set of Jepps. There is great info. in there. It comes in the ExpressPacks (or whatever they're called) as well. I'd even venture to say it might be worth buying an express pack ($~20) just to get the intro. section, and some Jepps to study from, if you're really unfamiliar with them. On the other hand, some might say that if you can use NOS, you can use Jepp without much difficulty.

ESF,

You're right about the Jeps intro section being good info, but the Chart Clinic series is even better yet and was available on the website at one time. The Chart Clinic explained stuff whereas the intro just says, "here is it..." with no details of what it means or how to use it.

I corresponded with Jim Terpstra at Jeppeson a bit when the Chart Clinic came out. They were considering putting out the entire 26 article series as a book and I applauded the idea. He sent me an initial copy of the first 13 articles but I lost track of the project after that as I already had all 26 articles in a binder from getting the magazine. It's still the best I've seen to date. For someone who'd never worked with Jeps before...priceless.

Ah, I struck gold. For anyone interested:

Jeppesen Chart Clinic

It's all there. You're right, much more comprehensive than the Introduction Section. I just remembered I still have all of the issues it was published in, in a box someplace.

I use Jepps every day, but I think I'm going to print them all out for review. Good stuff!
