Own ship's position worked great today on FD's low enroute charts in our Cirrus @ 8,000ft; had cellular data turned off and it tracked very accurately using the internal GPS.

Ship's position also worked well on the 10-9 airport diagrams, but I didn't try it on an approach chart.

FD has issues with inputing routes (it doesn't seem to recognize many common intersections) and needs some work but on the whole, I think its pretty nifty.

I have a feeling that Geographical Referencing on approach plates may not happen with jepps until the FAA loosens their restriction. I believe that own ship position is forbidden on class 1&2 EFB's during approaches.

I too love ForeFlight but hate the NOS charts. Only if Jeppesen would buy ForeFlight and replace the charts with their own. That and add XM and the package would be complete.

You can toggle OSP on and off from the iPad general settings page.. Just click on the Jepp FD icon at the bottom of the page.

Talked with Jepp the other day, and they cain that leaving out the ability to type in a departure like JONHH1.BTY was an over site and will be addressed in the next update along with some other minor changes.

Any feedback on Wing-X?? We also prefer to stay with Jepp., but ready for XM on the i-pad now. How about a GPS for the i-pad with a heated windshield??
Are all your cockpit windows heated? I've had luck getting a good signal with the unheated side panels.

Anyone having problems updating charts on the iPad using Jepp FD?
