Does anyone know what star means sometimes shown near VOR's on the Jepp plates? It looks like the symbol for the airport beacon, but without the circle around it. An example is on the Indianapolis ILS Rwy 5R approach plate. There's one just south of the departure end of Rwy 5R and also one at the top of the approach plate where the Brickyard VOR 188 radial is shown. I've looked through the legend but can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks.

star

If it's what i think your talking about it 's a waypoint =point of transition or visual reporting point

Darien thanks for responding. Thats what I was thinking at first too but the waypoint symbol only has four points on it. This is an actual star (five points). Anyone else have any thoughts on what it might be?

The star with the circle around it is the airport/beacon in the AIRPORT plan view only and only is applicable on that page in the jepps. A star with no circle around it is the beacon in the APPROACH plan view. Look at the left hand side of page 107 in the introduction section of your jepps.

Thanks guys you're exactly right. Don't know how I missed that - guess I was looking too hard. Thanks again!
