jeep off-road in Las Vegas

I'm going to Vegas soon and would like to rent a jeep and drive around in the desert. I'm sure that I can get the vehicle in a variety of places, but I'm having a hard time finding a map or guidebook of places to drive. Any suggestions?

Try one of the big bookstores, I like the area south of Boulder City, several descent 4x4 roads, many go down to the river too, I picked up a map of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area that worked well. Even though you are not allowed (officially) to go off road in the park, there are several 4x4 roads which take you to the lake, very few people, gets real black out there, good camping. Careful, no firearms allowed angryfire ),lol.:uzi:
