Where is the JFK/EWR "pilot ghetto" that most you live?? Good schools, good QOL, etc, based on the ever decreasing pilot salary? Are most pilots moving to Eastern PA? I heard NJ and CT are WAY expensive. Thanks

I'd say the vast majority are commuters. For those that live and drive, scattered all over... NJ, NY, PA, CT, MA. Those without kids are more apt to do the city thing and those with are more apt to do the suburb thing.

Allentown area seems to be one of the more reasonable. I know a few guys that live around there and they seem to like it. I was interested in moving there but the the wife's veto shot that plan down.

Those ghettos are more like "crash pads"-- At JBLU I think someone ran the numbers on our JFK based pilots and came up with close to 90% being commuters (out of state or 1 hop from upstate NY). Orlando, FL has over 60 pilots commuting from/through that city alone to JFK.
