I'm sure this'll get moved, and I really don't care. This is the only way the information will get out is in this forum.

We lost Hector Antonio Sierra-Diaz (Hector Sierra) last night (10JAN08) in a motorcycle accident on I-4 in Orlando. He was 28. Hector was a PDT FO for 3 1/2 years based in CHO, before moving on to Pinnacle as a DTW based CA, and recently to JetBlue. Hector is survived by his son, Ryan (4), who lives in NC, and his family in Kissimmee, FL as well as PR.

Is this Hector on the 190? I was just in the jumpseat with him from JFK-TPA two weeks ago. Crap, what great guy, wow.

My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

Yes, that's him. He had interviewed for a position with the Training Department down in Orlando and was awaiting word.

I interviewed him at Airline Training Academy when he applied as a CFI and also trained him as an MEI. He was one of the best friends I've ever had, despite our 13 year difference in age.

godspeed,,,always hate to see a fellow rider and pilot make the final flight westbound. my prayers to his family.

Terrible news. Just makes you realize how short and precious life really is.

Very sad. Rest in peace.

.....

Knew him at Pinnacle and talked with him a few times at JB. He was a very nice person upbeat and always had a smile. Sorry to see one of the good guy's go in such a tragedy.

He was my sim partner in the 190 at JB. I still can't believe it. He made my training experience fun. He will be missed. Godspeed Hector

Good Bye Hector "The crazy puerto rican!"

Great times we had in Roanoke with Piedmont and then at Pinnacle.

RIP brother...

He was such a nice guy and always friendly in the crew lounge. He will definitely be missed.

Hector was a great guy. I never saw him down. He always had a smile on and was high on life.
Stuff like this sucks. Seriously wear your F*n helmets people! *RIP buddy*

I flew with Hector two months ago and saw him just 4 days ago. One of the nicest people you could ever hope to know. Huge smile, infectious laugh, loved his little boy, great pilot.

A real tragedy. I will miss him.

Services for Hector

Services for Hector Sierra will be on Sunday, January 13th, 2008 from 2pm to 5pm EST at:

Grissom Funeral Home
803 Emmett Street
Kissimmee, FL 34741
Phone: (407) 847-3131

I've spoken to Steph (his ex, and Ryan's Mom) as well as other close friends and they all feel that uniforms are appropriate.

His body will either be cremated in FL and flown to Puerto Rico, or flown to Puerto Rico and cremated. I'm not sure on the specifics.

Also, Hector was a ROA based FO with PDT, not CHO. I apologize for the wrong information. I thought he was based in CHO at one time.
