REALLY? Is that why he bailed out of NWA?...come on.The difference is Anderson actually knows something about running an airline. Did you know that some of our Lagos flights were selling in coach for $3500 apiece, and the flights were oversold by a ton? I don't think JB could dream of such a thing flying the Jerry Springer crowd up and down the east coast.

Jetblue has already whittled down American's Boston operations. AA pulled out of LAS, MSY, FLL, MCO, PBI, SEA, and SJC all after Jetblue came on board, and now jetblue is going after LAX, ORD, and SFO. Not to mention the eagle cities they've dumped. Of course the legacies can compete domestically, but they can't do it out of many of these cities.
Why can't Delta do what American does on its international flights? BOS is not slot controlled, and has gate space at its int'l arrivals terminal to handle additional flights. American just departs out of its own terminal, arrives at the Int'l terminal, and then repositions the airplanes back to their own gates for departure. No FIS facility at terminal B. I think in the summer, where you can't get enough seats to say, Ireland, that Delta could easily fill a 767 ER to Dublin/Shannon. If the money is in int'l flights, than perhaps point to point int'l like that would make more business sense to boost revenue.
I think we might do that, but a lot of our planes are already tagged to do something else. We just got 17 Ex TWA 757-200ERs, so we could do it. Believe it or not, there was talk before 9-11 to fly 737-800s from BOS to SNN and DUB. How? Good question. I am sure our current guys are looking into flights like you suggested.

Congrats on winning the war for Long Island's Finest Trash...![]()
The airfare was only $99, the rest was used for the flak jackets and ammo option for the ride to their hotels after landing in Lagos.
Be careful over there. My dad went there in the early 80s, and he said the best part of his trip was leaving...
This is just one in a long string of markets that Delta won't be able to compete in. ISP is pretty much gone. They're getting it handed to them in BOS. Which place is next? SLC?

Uh huh..thats why he stayed so long at the health care gig huh?....he did not want to be the bad guy at NWA...left that to Steenland...try again. If you had a chance to make 4 times the money at another job, you wouldn't take it? Maybe you could take a job washing the 787 at Payne Field in Washington? That job will be available in 3 years. Study up for the interview.

It's a 3 day trip worth 24:30. It is commutable on each side, and there are armed cars in front and behind you enroute to the "nicest" hotel in the city. The hotel gives a pretty good discount on food, and there is a nice workout room. Most of the other airlines that fly there (Air France, KLM, etc) all stay there too. It is actually becoming a fairly senior trip---fly there, sleep, and leave.
