and your teddy and benky :-)

yes, i'm gonna bring my blanky and teddy to keep me company :-)

ha

better bring the KY jelly, if the company's not giving it to ya the Union will be.

leave your pride at home, you want need that for 10 or 15 years.

Just think, going to Comair right now you ARE the bottom of the barrel, at least at Mesa or GoJets you might get an upgrade in the next decade.

FYI, Comair is currently having to bypass upgrades because people with the seniority for it don't have enough total time. And Comair is far better than Mesa and GoJets.

Goose Egg,

I left Comair a year ago after 2 years with the Co. There is NO truth to your statement and you know it.

Cool your jets, Paco. That may of been true a year ago, but this is now. My info is straight from the training department.

Goose, everyone here knows what you said is 100% false.

On the other hand, if the company isn't shrunk into nothing then it is likely that upgrade times will be going down soon, due to extremely high attrition that will only get higher as more major airlines start to hire. I'm hoping to vote with my feet in the next month or so.

at any rate.... is anyone else going or have some good advice about what to bring?

Bring an FAR book and basic supplies like pens, note paper, etc. The company will provide you with all the study material you need except for an FAR book.

Easy, people. I don't work there. I'm just going off of what I heard. I thought I had it on pretty good authority... Apparently not, but your quarrel should be with the IOE Captain/Check Airman that addressed the last interview group, not me.

thanks Imacdog.... hope to see you on the line soon :-)

I have no idea but my guess is that there isnt 108 people dumb enough to bid for the vacant JFK captain spots. Thats probably what said line check airman was refering to.

Sign me up baby!! My quality of life sucks anyway.

What the heck do you need a FAR book for? Never needed one before. The FARs are built into the Ops manual and student notes. Save your money.

As far as upgrades, there are hundreds and hundreds of FO's who have the time to upgrade. Maybe he was talking about the 600/100 FO's that we are hiring that won't be able to upgrade for a loooong time.

I would go to JFK if my conditional bid is met. Sure it is a bit of a hassle, but I think the trips there will be pretty good.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Your first lesson in this industry is that if you heard it from the training department, it's complete and utter B.S!!!!!

What everyone has told you here is correct. Communist Air is a dead end street. As long as Delta owns Comair, they will never prosper. He shoulda gone to Mesa or Skywest and taken the 2 year upgrade. You have a lot to learn about this industry before you're qualified to shoot your mouth off.

Don't forget to bring $400 for that leather jacket. It shows all the other pilots how cool you are! :)

And wear it in public when you're off duty. Be sure to wear Ray-Bans with it. Chicks dig that.

Pilotguy143,

Don't bring your FARs. I bought a new copy and never used it. Pencil, notepad and your headset. Comair will supply everything else. If you are working for another airline or furloughed, they will ask for a letter resigning your seniority. Don't offer it if they don't ask.

thanks uncle.... I appricate the advice
