On my way to Jackson Hole to spend four days, and have a few questions for anyone who has spent some time there.

1. Do I need to rent a car? This is a contract trip, so the owner and I have negotiated a day rate which includes expenses. Being the cheap person that I am I was wondering if I can get away without a rental and then pocket the money.

2. Are there any restaurants or other attractions that I absolutely can't afford to miss?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Take a jacket and make your reservations for lodging and the car in advance. You'll need the car to get to lodging. It's a long, cold walk, otherwise.

Take a drive down to Afton and visit the Aviat factory...watch Huskies and the Eagle being built.

You can also visit Yellowstone while you're in the vicinity.

Gotta do the Cowboy Bar and there is at least one decent brewpub. You will need the car. It is about 15-20 miles from the airport to town. Yellowstone, Afton, Driggs. Bring a camera. Lotsa elk to see this time of year. Enjoy.

if you're into fishing PM me and i'll give you some info about where to go, a friend of mine has a rather large outfitting business in Jackson Hole...
