Several Flightinfo.com members have JAA ATPLs and might be able to give advice if we can….. what info are you seeking?

Mostly about the 14 tests, in a month I will be able to take them, I have access to the Jepp books but I find them to be a little vague,,im just getting worried about the tests!!! Any advice of study material would be a great help!!
thanks

Hey there MooneyPilot

Do you have feedback questions? The best thing to do would be to get hold of some, I used the Oxford ones, but BGS and a few others are as good if not better.

After reading through your notes make some sensible notes, and then basically do the feedback until you can get 90% all the time.

I am sure others will have better advice, personally I got worked up about the exams, as I listened to what others were saying. Then I took the exams and was miffed to find that they there were not that hard.

Anyways good luck, get hold of feedback study that to death makes some good notes and you should be fine.

Good luck buddy!

I took the 14 exams about 2 years ago. I've also worked as a ground instructor teaching JAA ATPL theory, let me know if you have any questions, i may not be able to answer them all but i can help you find the answer.

Stby one, are you taking a course or preparing on your own (self study)?

Hey there

Feedback questions are questions that are obtained by the school from the students after they come out of sitting the exam. They usually ask for the answers as well as the JAA exams are well known for having poor answers to the questions that they ask.

If you can get hold of the feedback, just by chance I happen to have some for sale, then you will find that it is similiar to the FAA question bank books published by Gleim and ASA.

Now with the JAA the questions will either be the same or similiar with a few odd ones thrown in, not identical as with the FAA. The calculation questions will just use different numbers. So you memorize the formulas and just learn where to use them and how to insert the numbers where required.

Get hold of some feedback, the school that you are doing it through should be providing it for you. If it is not Oxford or BGS, get a hold of theirs and work through them.

As said if you can not obtain them through your school I have some for sale as well as my Oxford/Jepp notes.
