I plan on jumpseating to and from CUN on Frontier or AWA tomorrow. Will I need to pay taxes going to CUN? Any advice on jumpseation out of CUN? I assume I will need to pay taxes at the airport then go to the ticket agent for a jumpseat pass.

Thanks

Take your uniform with you and wear it on the way out of CUN. It will help you get by security and some of the Mexican cities require you to wear your uniform if you are j/s and CUN is one of those cities.

You will pay taxes on the way out from Cancun.

Taxes can run as high as $35 US but keep pesos on your pocket to pay the taxes (it will save you a lot of time).

Thanks thedude. When you J/S out of CUN did you go to the ticket counter first or just try to go through security and make it to the gate. I would think the ticket agents would just give a J/S a standby ticket to get them through security.

I would try to take care of things at the ticket counter. Lots of countries and Mexico is one of them, do not have gate counters like we do in the US. All they do is make sure you have a ticket for that flight. As far as CUN goes, I can't really remember. But there are two terminal in CUN, the sked airline term and the charter term. Last time I was in CUN (July) Frontier operated into the charter term.

Just remember you experience will vary from what I have said and I have never had things work the same way twice in the Mexican cities.
