I turned in my packet for NetJets and received the letter not to give me an interview?!?!? I have close to 5,000 hrs, most of which is jet time! Over 2,000 hours of PIC jet and still get turned down.....Are they hiring the furloughed airline guys or what?!?!?

Companies can be extremely selective in this market. If you haven't networked yourself at where you want to work, it's a wasted effort.

From your message, I couldn't understand if you are an airline furloughee or not. If you are, would it possibly be because you aren't currently flying? That's apparently held up a few people, according to postings here.

Regardless, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I do wish you better luck in the future, either at NetJets or at a different company.

I'm sorry to hear that mflye. If you look at Nixons thread, net jets timetable, he has posted some of our info. Right now I'm on the wait list for an interview.
Who knows if I'll get the job? But if I do, may be I can help you out in the future. My e-mail address is [email protected]. Sorry man. I bet you'll
get in next time. Sounds like you've got all the qualifications. ????

Thanks guys! I'm not an ex-airline guy and I am currently flying so who knows.....Hopalong let us know how it goes!

I'm looking to send my stuff in soon, when are people sending their LOR's if they have them?
(A) With your resume'
(B) When they hopefully send you a package to fill out after looking at your resume'

Any NJA guy's want to trade an LOR for dinner & beers at Outback ?

How dare NetJets not hire you!! I think this is a travesty and I call for a federal special prosecutor and get to the bottom of this!

Have the person giving you the recommendation email the LOR with a copy of your resume attached.

Keep your chin up you got turned down from a job.. Now dust yourself off and go get hired by a place that's a career.

Just wait 6 months and re-apply. It was easy to get on there when the job paid peanuts.. Now..well you get the picture..
Good luck.

What did the letter say exactly? Seems weird they would take the time to send you the app and then not even interview you with your quals. I know a lot of Indy Air guys have been going to NJA, although for them they're not "furloughed" and they don't have a job to go back to so maybe that's part of it. Are you 100% sure your app was correct? It says if anything is missing or not entered correctly the app will be rejected. For the record, I sent mine in last monday and got an email friday saying it was accepted and stay tuned for interview dates. My times are 3800T, 2300Multi, 1400Turbine PIC - no jet time. Currently flying 135 turboprop. Best of luck and don't give up.

Where do you live? Maybe they aren't considering people who aren't at least close to one of the five domiciles.

Try FLOPS

Right now we are in the situation Netjets was in before the new contract. Lowest paid, crappiest QOL, most pizzed off pilot force. Only crazy people and those who don't qualify for(or got rejected by) all the other frax want to come here
But a new day is dawning at FLOPS. If you can come here and hang in a couple of years until our first contract is signed, this is going to be a great place to work.
I don't think we are currently hiring, but at our attrition rate, we are going to have to start soon or park airplanes.
And as an added bonus possibility, there's always the chance that we will be acquired by Netjets, so you might end up with your first choice anyway!
Good luck in your job search!

I do live in Atlanta so maybe they are picking people closer to the domicile bases. The letter was real short and basically said "After reviewing your application more carefully that I would not be granted an interview." I'm on the road and don't have the letter in front of me, but I think that was the verbiage used.. It kinda makes me think there was something negative they saw, but I don't have a criminal background or any aviation related problems! Oh well.....Good Luck and be safe!

You might want to find out. A buddy of mine got the same letter. Turns out during the DMV research it pulled up the wrong guy who said he had a Dui or something like that. After a phone call it cleared up the problem and he works here now.

I'm sure that's it. Do you have the number and email for contact?

No I don't have any information! You could be right but I sent a 7 year DMV report with the app. If anyone has the numbers I'll give it a shot!

I sent a resume almost 3 weeks ago and haven't even gotten the app yet. Do they send it to everyone that meets the mins?

No I don't work for Ga. Jet and I'd rather keep my place of employment confidential. You never know who's reading the posts. If anyone has the contact info. I would love to give NJ's a call....

I'm confused, if you sent the DMV report then you should have no questions about it's content. However, if you just authorized NJA to access the National Drivers Data Base without having a copy sent to you (your right) that could be the trouble.
Remember, you have an absolute right to see all the information you allowed NJA to collect.
Sorry about your trouble, but fix the problem, if there is one and re-apply.
Good luck.

x402 is right. You might get ahead of the game if you dig a little. This might even get your foot in the door.

FR, I take a more optimistic outlook for your contract time frame. (Personal observation here, no inside scoop.) When analyzing the NJ experience you need to look at how long it took under SU and 1108 leadership, instead of the entire length of the contract battle. Unfortunately, due to apathy and poor leadership, much time was wasted. I don't see that happening to the Flt Ops pilots. You have the advantage of belonging to a dedicated frac local, that the NJ pilots didn't start out with, and the lessons they learned to guide you. Organizing yourselves shows a lot of motivation so apathy certainly isn't a problem. True, you're building your own SU from the ground up, but hard work and a good blueprint (provided by 1108) will move the process along.

I echo your Good Luck wishes to all pilots seeking employment right now, and add my Best Wishes to the Options pilots as they go for their first contract.
