Yeah, but I get a kick out of playing their little games.XRMEFLYER said:You already know the answer to that one!
Yeah guys, congratulations!!!!711-24-7 said:Congratulations guys. And just wanna give shout out to all of the Comair pilots who were my instructors and buddies at school. Awesome job! Keep it up.
Thank you come, again.
Surplus, what's the matter, cat got your tongue. Seriously, is that $1 billion in Cmr passenger revenue, or reimbursement from mother D? Do you know?surplus1 said:I don't know. Why don't you tell us? You do have the answer don't you, and can substantiate it?
Thanks for the answer. So it's not really a billion dollars of passenger revenue brought in, but rather a billion dollars of expenses for DAL. I wonder how much actual revenue they generate for DAL from actual passengers.Capt. Caucasian said:Oh my lord! Being a "major" means absolutely d!ck. And yes, Comair's revenue is from "selling" their services to Delta, just as it is with ExpressJet, Eagle, ASA, Mesa, Skywest, Mesaba, Pinnacle, CHQ, etc, etc, etc.
CMR is as profitable or as unprofitable as DAL wants it to be. CMR isn't paid by the passenger revenue generated on its flights, like most vendors of small jet lift, CMR get's paid a guaranteed profit from DAL whether the flight makes money for DAL or not. Even if the CMR flight is empty, it's a money maker for CMR, but not necessarily DAL.standaman said:FDJ2 what is your response to that DOT article that says Comair is proffitable?
I have a solution that will satisfy me. Let's go back to revenue sharing instead of fee for departure. That way we get the money for the part flown on CMR and you get the money for the part flown on DAL. We by and pay for our own airplanes, you buy and pay for yours. We pay you for the services you provide, you pay us for the services we provide, e.g., handling, res, etc. In other words, let's code-share like we used to. We "agree" on where to go and when to go. When we don't agree you can put your DC9s on the route. That way you won't have to pay us to not carry paying pax so you lose money and we won't have to fly routes that make no sense. You can fly your 737s and DC9s with 50 revenue pax anywhere you choose, and we can fly our Rjs with 50 pax where we choose. We can return to double-digit profits and you can continue with double-digit losses. We also won't have to worry that you'll drag us into BK with you. Just like the "good old days".FDJ2 said:CMR is as profitable or as unprofitable as DAL wants it to be. Surplus, as you and I both know, that is not up to you or me.surplus1 said:I have a solution that will satisfy me. Let's go back to revenue sharing instead of fee for departure.
