Q, there are two parts to your statement.

The first part, about paranoia, is abject nonsense. We are now "concerned" and "paying attention" in areas that we should have done far earlier. That isn't paranoia, it's common sense, like having a good lock on your Manhattan apartment door.

The second part is a desire or your part. I hope your desire does not come true. Putting our national defense in the hands of a commander in chief who is a pacifist can only lead to our destruction.

You can't pacify these people without making our culture like theirs, converting to Islam, and making your girlfriend wear a full body covering. Burkahs by Victoria's Secret? That, or our destruction and elimination, is their goal. Get that straight in your head.

Is is done so by people who know full well that this isn't true, and they are the "lying liars" of politics. Al Franken knew this when he tried to shift the blame for this behavior. He has a lot of rhetoric and no facts, which is the basis of liberal politics. No surprises there.

It is a group of "progressives" who deliberately mislead people in order to help foster their own political and social agenda.

None of the democrat candidates will reveal what is the heart of their movement, because only a small number of Americans would vote for them.

Their real platform:

1) Redistribution of wealth.

"It isn't fair that so many Americans have money that allows them a comfortable lifestyle. We should raise their taxes and distribute that money to the "less fortunate" by means of government programs, creating and continuing a dependent society that continually returns us to power, election after election. After all, only we have the high IQ, and the rational ideas that should be the hallmark of a "progressive" country." Think "national public radio".

2) Control of social policy.

This is accomplished by activist judges who legislate from the bench, since these rulings could never get past congress in the form of a bill. So, by judicial fiat, our society is molded not by the passage of law so much as fear of litigation that will certainly be supported by cases decided by these activist judgers. The ninth circuit is a good example of this.

The unwillingness of the Supreme Court to hear important cases, such as first amendment suits involving the rights of Americans regarding the free exercise of religion, guaranteed by the constitution, is another good example of how our society is in control of judges who are creating law and failing to interpret law, rather than honoring the will of the people by means of their duly elected representatives.

3) Subjugation of sovereignty to a world governing body.

Right now, that is the UN. Have you noticed how many liberals complained that we acted without the 100% approval of the UN in the war on terror? The democrats believe that US sovereignty should be given over to the UN, which is very much a liberal, socialist body. By doing this, America comes under the direct influence of liberal ideas, transforming America from the free, capitalist coutry, or at least what still remains of these qualities, to another second-rate, European like country. You can expect very high taxes, fuel prices, poor quality cradle to grave medicine, and a government that is, compared to ours now, almost totalitarian in flavor. It IS treason to support this idea.

What was once considered "paranoid", an irrational fear without support of fact, is now simply being aware and careful of what is afoot on the world stage.

And, at home in our own politics.

It's not paranoid and just plain common sense to have cops knocking on your door when you want to go buy a flight simulator for your computer? I have a problem with that. Yes, we do need to be aware of our surroundings and pay attention but most of the efforts of us jumping at our own shadows can be spent going after the terrorists instead of harassing flight crews and ordaniry citizens for going about their daily lives. And I still have a problem with specifically targeting Iraq as "world terrorist headquarters" whan there is STILL no direct proof that they had anything to do with 9/11. Even Collen Powell stated yesterday that there was still no "smoking gun." But that's another thread.

My point is that the two-party system tend to drive everyone from one extreme or another. Show a Republican a Democrat, and he sees a "commie liberal." Show a Democrat a Republican, and he sees a "fascist conservataive."

You have to ignore one key fact in order to say that with a straight face. Here it is.

Those "lying liars" have never been conservatives. They don't understand the source of the values, and they don't respect the guarantees of the constitution. They don't have any credibility when they speak about conservatives.

I, on the other hand, have been one of them. Not just for a day, or a month, but over twenty years. I voted for George McGovern, for heaven's sake.

This gives me what hip-hop calls "street cred". I can tell a democrat like Zell Miller from a Chuck Schumer or a Hillary Clinton. I know what it is I am speaking about.

Compare that with the drivel and fear spewing from some democrats. The difference is night and day.

For several decades since WWII, the major media outlets have become more and more liberal. Yet, they have continued to define themselves as being centrists. Now, compared to these "centrists", everyone on the right looked like they were on the extreme right. That wasn't so, but it is how the political landscape was being defined.

Now, with more media choices, and the rise of talk radio, regular Americans are speaking out. They understand far more than when they took for granted that Peter Jennings or Dan Rather were in the "center", not knowing that they often represented the views of the left.

So, the American political center is actually farther to the right than was previously claimed by the liberal media. This is why Fox news is kicking major viewer hiney and AM talk is the hottest format in radio.

So, while you (and Dan and Katie, no doubt) would like to define me as an extremist, I am actually very close to the center of American political thought.

I'm not the only one, either.
