Just curious how working at Island Air is? Do they hire into the left seat and if so what are they looking for? I was looking for pay scales online but have not found anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Look back a few pages. I asked some questions like six months ago and there is about 1100 replies that will probably cover many of your questions.

I sifted through some of the info on the other 72 + pages on island air. What I was wondering is what does it look like for street captains today. I know a few things have changed since June of '04. I saw some talk of 400's I guess that is dead now..or what? Currently at 2800TT and 1400 MEL and 850 in Type. So what are the opinions on the street captain thing. Would that time have a chance?

Street captains are min... 3000/1000

For the time being we are set for both F/O's and Captains. Who knows what the future will hold though. When we are hiring "street captains" it's not in the strictist sense of the word. You get your type rating in initial (which only about half make it through that) and then sit as an F/O until you are needed. Getting the captain bid has varied between almost right after training to 4months for the last few classes.

Last rumor was March class, but who knows.

I don't think coming here expecting to be a captain is an option right now. I would expect to wait awhile, but again, nobody really knows.

Average hours a month is about 80-85 a month for line holders and their is a 66 hour gurantee for reserves....For pay purposes.

As far as Actual flight time a month, it is probably about 60 hours a month for line holders (without whoring OT) and around 15-20 for reserves
