No, your definately not the only one. I think everyone is fairly understaffed. We sure are. You should see the open time out there

Gulfstream will be hiring off the street Capt's in the B1900 starting on 1/1/07.

No PFT
Full pay during training 32.70 hour 80 hour guarantee during training.
1 1/2 pay for junior manning plus a vacation day for each day.
Great Lakes pilot's go to the top of the hiring list.

It is rumored that SkyWest will have around 200 RJ FO's time out in November and December. We are already short in this category. If I could go back to the right seat of the jet for double time...hmm...

Oh... I've got a theory, you can't just tell people that you're raising ticket prices to pay your pilots better because there's a pilot shortage. You first have to cancel their flights a few times due to pilot shortages, then they'll understand when you raise prices.

Every airline is probably understaffed somewhat. It's cheaper to junior man and pay time and a half, double time, whatever, than it is to pay the guarantee for a few more reserve pilots.

Indeed...50 cents is all it would take to pay us a living wage...something is rotten in the state of Denmark!
