Is my temporary certificate still valid?

So the other day I accidently tore up my temporary certificate and threw it in the trash thinking it was my old medical cert (wasn't paying attention, early in the morning). A coulple of days later I go to the airport to go flying. I looked in my flightbag and say two medical certs. Oh Crap I thought to my self as I realized what had happened. So I went home and rummaged through the trash and was lucky to find the temporary in ok condition. I taped it up and put it back in my flight bag. Everything on the certificate is still legible but im wondering if the feds have a rule saying its not valid because its been taped up. Any thoughts?

Just call your examiner, he/she probably will have no problem with issuing you a new one. Why risk it?
