if you push for strong scope, don't complain about the CO boys and girls following suit and scoping you out of 70 seat jets for example. It's a 2 way street.
I don't think that we will have to worry about that spineless group of pilots. The only things those scabs care about is holding onto their retirement. Right now there to scared to even negotiate with management. They will continue to have their flying eroded. Instead of trying to embrace us into one list they want us completely out of their union. My feeling is that we should go for the pay and alot of it. It will only benefit us long term. XJT is making money hand over fist. If mainline won't renew in 2007 then guess what. How are they going to feel about a low cost carrier in all 3 of their hubs?

Good luck fellas. You have an awfully tough job trying to raise the bar, when places like Mesa and even jetBlue race to lower it. I fear that you won't be released to self-help for a very long time. Rest assured, that if/when you do, the pilots of Comair have our "battle stars" all shined up to walk with you. You will find a tremondous amount of support from places like United, Northwest, FedEx and UPS.

Good luck.

On an 'unrelated' note I heard a Skywest captain the other day talking about how he totally sure come 2007 Skywest will get a big chunk of CAL flying.

Lots of optimism there at Skywest.... lol

Lowest price wins. Skyworst undercuts you by 100 bucks a trip...guess who isn't flying the route?!!! Cal is pretty much a bastard with no loyality for a company they "spun off". CAl will cut your throat if it means o'l Gordo can get a certificate or more money added to his bonus to pay all the FA's he get's knocked up!!!! XJT needs to focused on staying profitable and doing what they do best...The flight manuels are hot comodity with other small company's. There needs to be fair compensation for services while putting money into the investors pockets(including Gordo's). I believe management is trying to expand in anticipation for reduced flying from one of it's only customers. I heard a rumor that a mini-hub at LAX was in the works. I for one will believe it when I see it...

COEX will never get Comair rates. Look at the rates they have now. That would be too large of a jump for management to sign off on. Strike away guies. See where that gets ya.

Comair will not get Comair rates. When their current contract is up of for renegotiation, their rates will go down.

Word had it that you had been "put on ice" by the NMB because they didn't agree with you guys asking for CMR rates or anything near it,
Actually, none of our proposals have even gotten close to Comair rates.....in fact our last proposal was around Comair +10%. :D

"Comair will not get Comair rates. When their current contract is up of for renegotiation, their rates will go down."

Never gonna happen. No way, no how. A BK judge may force it on us but there is no chance that this pilot group would EVER agree to concessions.

Weren't the Delta mainline pilots saying that not to long ago?

"Weren't the Delta mainline pilots saying that not to long ago?"

Their circumstances are very different than ours. They are paid something like 1/3 more than the next most expensive similar group. We are paid less than a buck an hour more than the next guy and I don't know anybody that gets 1/3 less than we do. The DAL pilots are off the chart compared to their peers. We aren't.

Unless I am mistaken, a BK judge ruling on another airline's case cannot tell your airline's PILOTS to take consessons. The judge might be able to reduce the block hour rate that Delta pays Comair, but it would be a seperate issue between YOU and Comair management if you were to take consessions.

Hang in there Comair Brothers. We at XJT are counting on you not to give in...

In return, we shall not give in.

The bar WILL be raised.

Their circumstances are identical to yours. You are both the highest paid as compared to your peirs. How much more is irrelevant.

A lot more is relevant. I hear the hot dog vendors in ATL are paid 10% more than their peers in Detroit, which reflects in the gate lease rates, which reflects in Delta's bottom line. Are the hot dog vendors taking a 23% cut too?

I had a lot of respect for Delta for holding the line up until now. Do those fools not realize they're losing their jobs (and our future jobs) because of a gap in labor costs. Cutting costs at Comair will simply result in more outsourcing!!! GOD. GET IT!? And once upon a time I had respect for airline pilots as rational human beings. This career has gone beyond stupid. Unfortunatley I don't think a more eloquent word exists to describe it other than "stupid."

Hey, get a BA, spend 40k on flight training, and by the time you're 40, you may make 40k! Sure you have to retire by 60 (thought you could slave away to 80 and still not catch up to a non-educated construction worker but luckily, that's not even an OPTION!), but walmart is always hiring.
