The company seems to have undergone a fundamental shift in how they screen applicants - it used to be that you couldn't work here without prior 121 or at least some 135 experience - but now we have repeatedly hired flight instructors with less than 1500 hours. I also understood that calls are still going out for interviews but that there is only supposed to be one more class this year and the rest will go into the pool to compensate for attrition (of which there has been a fair amount).
Why not call them and find out who the new person is and send/fax them a new resume immediately after speaking to them? As for the future.......like with all airlines it's a crap shoot. AWAC is one of the best regional airlines to work for right now as far as working conditions and equipment are concerned. The major drawback is that they are solely feeding UAL.flydelta2002 said:I have been trying to interview for months- I even got a call about a phone interview from Chris. It turns out that she is no longer with the company. Any suggestions for getting an interview? Does the future still look good for AWAC
Yes, we are going to go from 5 RJ flights a day in DEN up to 6.Pukindog said:I heard from someone in the awac training dept that they were going to increase the size of their CRJ operation in DEN. Also heard they were looking for an additional CRJ for the fleet.
One of the many, many rumors that are floating around Appleton involves a major return to Denver and flying out west.DirkkDiggler said:Puke Dog, you probably want to check your sources on that one. If you check closely, you'll notice that Air Wisconsin just closed their CRJ base in Denver. Moved everything to D.C. Wish it was true but I seriously question your source.
I really don't like to get caught up in rumors, but i've heard something similar to what you are talking about. I heard that United is pretty dissapointed with Mesa's performance out of DEN and that AWAC may be making a comeback in DEN.WhiteCloud said:One of the many, many rumors that are floating around Appleton involves a major return to Denver and flying out west.
Your time and experience is right in line with many of the pilots in the last new hire class. Keep updating. As of a few weeks ago AWAC was still bringing pilots in for interviews. Good luck.mooser said:Whats the Deal on mins to apply...is it 1000 and 250 like the website says or 1500 and 500 like the recording says???
