I'd like to jumpseat LAX-AMS on DL or NW. I've heard really good things about jumpseating on DL, but NW offers 5 flights per day between DTW and AMS. Can anyone please offer insight or share experiences about international jumpseating on these carriers.
I've also heard that one must check in 90 minutes prior to departure to get listed on the manifest. Would I do this at the departure gate in DTW/ATL/JFK or could I do it in LAX at the start of the journey?
And any tips for jumpseating from AMS back to the U.S.? What's the departure tax in AMS and how do I list for the jumpseat over there?
