I have a SWA interview in a few weeks and am finishing up the application paperwork.

Is it acceptable to neatly fill out the application paperwork by hand or should I try to find a steam-driven type writer? Or, is there some obscure word processing software that I can use that I am not aware of? The blank forms were emailed to me in PDF format. Thanks for the help.

According to People Department, the Dec interview group was the first to be all-electronic as far as the paperwork goes, so things may be changing rapidly as they work out the bugs. . .

But. . . most of the docs I got were exactly that: .doc files. I used MS word to fill out most, and the rest were as you said, .pdf files which you can fill out on your computer as well. I think there was one that I could not fill out on my computer, but I have an old typewriter that I used for it. If you are not able to find one, go down to your local FedEx Kinkos where there is no charge for typewriter use. Have a good time at the interview and GOOD LUCK! Looks like a great place to be.

170B,
I don't think it will matter if you do electronic/old-school typing/legible handwriting. I interviewed in Sep and all of my interview paperwork was snail-mailed to me (albeit via Fed-Ex). I started to scan each page and fill it out electronically but after putting a sledge hammer through the screen (figured it was time for a flat panel anyway!) I simply used the pen and wrote as neatly as I could. From my interview group I would say most of us had filled out at least some stuff by hand. Some guys had color copies of passports/licenses and others had it in b&w; some even scanned in their diplomas and put little SWA icons in the header. I really don't think any of it makes any difference unless there are errors or something that looks unprofessional. I would simply do whatever you feel most comfortable with. And in case you are worried - penmanship is not a concern because I am currently in the pool & waiting.

Good luck & hope to see you in class!

I wrote everything by hand. Black ink. My penmenship is on par with my 9 year old neice. Actually I should have had her do it. Would have been a little more neat. I interviewed in September.
Point is I am in the pool. It is easy for me to say do not lose sleep over the details (because I did). The interview is going to get you the job you desire.
I realize that I am stating the extreme obvious here but the anxiety you feel today is NOTHING like the sleep you are going to lose waiting for the DB and your call! I feel for the guys and gals that have been waiting 2 months for the January DB (with all the respect and sympathy in the world why the Dec DB was postponed).
Good luck to all and be yourself. Enjoy the day and go out and get the job!!
