Have an interview coming up at USAA. Any input on the process? If not, how about info on the typical corporate flight department interview? I'm military trying to transition to the corporate side. Any help would be most graciously received! Thanks!
Corporate interviews can vary like the weather. Some are hiring if you're warm and breathing. Others have technical interviews, sim checks, etc.
In general, most corporate interviews are to see if you'll fit their culture. Should your military records indicate you don't play well with others, chances are you won't pass muster with a small, close knit department. Conversely, a clean record, sociable personality and solid background will go a long way. That being said, however, be prepared for anything. I highly doubt they're going to pull a Jepp plate and have you describe it to detail. But, they might! Know you stuff and be confident and you'll do fine. Like many jobs, a company isn't going to pay your way to an interview if they're not interested in hiring you in the first place.
