Do you have any recommendations for reading material on international ops? Just looking for something comprehensive and of an overview-type nature.

The problem is that you have so many different ops and procedures. JAA-OPS, JAR-OPS, PANS-OPS, ICAO and then each country that operates under one of those OPS have their own little twist on each of those and even airport specific in some cases. What I do is see which countries I'm flying over, look at their overflight rules ie if an overflight permot is needed or not and then look at the country's rules of where my ETP alternates are. If your going over the ocean then the North Atlantic Orientation chart has alot of good stuff on it. Its a tangled mess of spaghetti. Good luck my friend.

NBAA has a a large amount info. If your employer is a member you can apply for free access. Ask any question you need on the international board, *P*P*W has a great section.

The best place is the back of the atlantic jepp charts... everythying you need is there.

AT 1/2 is the bible for NAT ops. The MNPS is good reading material as well.
You can google it and you should be able to download it in PDF format.

well you see that everybody has some good info and im sure there is even more info so in a nut shell be very carefull when you fly international, have good handlers and always use good ops people like universal and tag when you get over there watch for vat taxes and check for all the crap the EU wants
the list is endless
good luck
