international jumpseats

I know as of right now, the only carrier allowing international jumpseats is United. Has anyone used them? I am planning on going to Argentina later and was looking for some do's and don'ts.

I know that Delta takes I'ntl J.A.'s, a friend of mine used them to go to Paris every now and then. I also heard that you have to list a few days in advance ,TSA thing.

I'm pretty sure US Airways will allow international jumpseaters (of course, requiring a seat in the cabin if you are offline).

Obviously, this won't help you get to Argentina. Anyone know about American?

You can pretty much forget about AA. That is unless you just happen to be on their approved list for intl' jumping. If memory serves, the only airlines on that list are the majors.

I jumpseated on United to Buenos Aires a little over a year ago. I flew MIA-EZE, and EZE-IAD. Everybody that I dealt with was very cool.

I did get knocked for taxes out of EZE, but not out of the US. I think it was around $50 or so. It could have been a little less though, I don't quite remember. And by the way, that was an Argentinian thing....not United.

The crew going down was super cool. In EZE, they let me ride in the crew bus downtown from the airport. I threw the driver an extra couple bucks, and he took me right to my hotel.

And the comment about AA was true (at least it was true a year ago). I tried them first, and they wouldn't let me on since it was international. I think that might be carrier specific however.
