Over the years, I've done a lot of international jumpseating. Crews from Northwest, CAL, Delta, United, Alaska, and ATA have always been extremely courteous to me and I am grateful.

My wife (also a pilot) thinks that TSA or whoever has forbidden international jumpseating. It's been a year or two since I've been anywhere, is she right? I'm hoping she's confusing it with CASS and the Cockpit. Can I still get a seat in the back?

I understand that cargo is CASS required becuase of the lack of a door.

Not a problem if there is a seat in the back, just not allowed in the cockpit.
AA has reciprocal with 10 carriers for International, I believe most other
majors are less restrictive.

This is my understanding as well.

I've gone international on UAL and DAL with no problem, as long as there's a seat in the back (or business class) :)

My company isn't permitted on AA on international flights for some reason but on domestic legs it's a piece of cake.

Good luck.

Flightdeck jumpseat to/from the US is prohibited. However, point to point destinations outside the US are fair game. United and NWA have inter-asia tokyo hubs.
