We were notified that we no longer have international jumpseat priviledges on our own airline (Pinnacle/NW Airlink). The TSA decided to retrict us.

Has this happened to any other airline out there - Major, National, or Regional?

Haven't heard a peep from the J/S coords. on this!

When did this happen?

Same deal at Alaska. I heard it's every airline in the system. I'm not sure how the TSA can allow a pilot to jumpseat on his/her own airline domestically but now we're a threat coming from Mexico, Canada, etc...

I also heard that the restriction is in effect only with the Terror Alert on high. Either way I think it's alot of BS.

What's that saying: "Absolute power corrupts absolutly"

From the very first day that the TSA took away our jumpseats it was ridiculous. Now this whole thing with the TSA has gotten way out of control.

Not just the TSA messing with our jumpseat priviledges, but other stuff. Like how they wanted to have the ability to suspend our pilot certificates without due process if you were "suspected" of anything. The daily harrassment flight crews get when going through security. Or those horrible random checks they were doing at the gate for a while after 9/11. I hope ALPA realizes that the TSA is not very Airline Pilot friendly. And they should step up to the plate on every bullshi.t issue the TSA comes up with.

F.UCK THE TSA.

And just to respond to your question, it was in the FIF portion of the dispatch paperwork for my flight yesterday.
