net income of $24 million, an increase of 8.3 percent.
Load factor for the first quarter of 2004 was 64.2 percent versus the first quarter of 2003 load factor of
62.6 percent.
Net income for 2003 was $442 million compared to net income for 2002, which was $241 million.
Southwest’s hedging program saved us $41 million in 4Q03.
For first quarter of 2004, we are 82 percent hedged with caps below $24/barrel.
For the remainder or 2004, we’re over 80 percent hedged with caps around $24/barrel.
For 2005, we are approximately 70 percent hedged with caps around $24/barrel.
Southwest flew 4.7 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in March 2004, a 15.2 percent increase from
the 4.1 billion RPMs flown in March 2003.
March ASMs increased 5.4 percent to 6.4 billion from 6.0 billion in March 2003.
March 2004 load factor was 73.6 percent (a record for the month of March).
