Interesting destinations
I'm currently attending a flight school in Heber City, Utah & attending college at UVSC. So I'm currently building time for a rating. Anyone know of any interesting, exciting, or nice scenic routes and destinations for a time builder?
Try Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne, St. George, Rifle, Moab (Canyonlands), Price, Manti, Cortez, Durango, Telluride, Grand Junction, Las Vegas, Paige, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Cody, and Elko for a start.
is there anything interesting in northern illinois/southern wisconsin? i was thinking of going to the museum at oshkosh, but are there any interesting approaches or things to see?
also, for people who fly around chicago... when you fly north/south along the shoreline, do you fly high and transition through o'hares class bravo or fly low and transition through meigs' class delta? this might seem like a stupid question, but what do you say when requesting an airspace transition? i've never gone through an airport's airspace without actually landing there.
i fly out of KUGN, waukegan regional. when i said "fly high" i meant IN o'hare's airspace, not above it. i wanted to know how to get past that congested area so i could fly south to indiana
looking at the sectional chart, flying along the shoreline until i intersect the 015 radial of CGT VOR and then tracking that radial until passing over the VOR will keep me clear of midway and gary
thanks, maybe i'll try going down the shoreline next time i fly
Thanks everyone! Me and a timebuilding buddy are going to Vegas, Grand Canyon, Boise,& Texas in the next week. There should be some great sights along the way.
