Some interesting numbers from the USAirways Affected Pilots List that has just been revised.
It contains 1785 names, which is 94 less than the total furlough number of 1879. I imagine those 94 either resigned, retired or passed away in 2002 and have been eliminated from the seniority list altogether.
Of the remaining 1785:
69 more have resigned
40 more retired
73 are at Mesa
50 are at Midway
14 military
14 medical
7 are ineligible due to impending retirement
2 terminated ( how do you get terminted while on furlough ? )
1 deceased
The bottom man with a job is #4496 as a Midway F.O. That is his USAirways seniority number. The bottom USAirways furloughee is number 5645. Obviously a lot of people bypassed J4J because they are either waiting for Mid-Atlantic or have a better job. That bottom man with a job is 636 numbers from the top of the APL.
These numbers may not be precise because trying to read through 1785 lines isn't easy and mistakes can occur. Just thought I'd pass this along.
