I'm looking to get some info on the QOL at Air Wisconsin if a pilot were to be based in PHL, ie: to begin the training, sitting reserve, upgrade now the BIG one benefits (how are they, how much out of pocket etc.) any info would help. Thanks

Reserve is running 2, maybe 3 months now for folks recently hired due to accelerating attrition. The junior upgrade award is 3 years 3 months, I think and the company has said they plan to upgrade at least 18/mo. For an airline with less than 800 pilots that isn't growing...that's a good clip.

IMO benefits are good; Health is BCBS and Dental is Humana (well, mine is). Health has gone up in price, its 167.40/mo married/no kids and Dental is 14.00/mo for married/no kids. My experiences have been that the prescription plan is very good.

The 401(K) is awesome compared to any airline at this time. As long as the pilot contributes at least 8% the company matches 4%. The company automatically contributes 3% of your wages quarterly no matter what you contribute. So if you max out your contributions you're looking at a 7% company match.

As of 2008, if the pilot contributes 9% the company will match 5% + the 3% they automatically put in quarterly, for a total of 8%.

To get the company match you have to be an employee for over one year, and you are fully vested after six years.

Still, none of that compares to a company pension, but it's the best we can do now I guess.

I know this thread is a couple weeks old but i thought i would revive it rather then make a new one..

Is ATW still a crew base or only PHL, DCA, ORF?

Are they running behind on training at all? Thanks for any help.

ATW isn't served by AWAC anymore. Just our headquarters. It all makes perfect sense.
